State conservation officials clarify fish and game laws for Iowa residents receiving old age assistance under Chapter 249. Licenses are waived only for state old age assistance recipients, not for federal aid alone. Deer hunting requires licenses for everyone.
Special to Register Tribune reports from Fort Benjamin Harrison Ind. Pvt Gilman J Lewison 20 son of Mr and Mrs H C Lewison is listed among armed service personnel.
Akron Iowa resident Lew ison finished an eight week finance procedures course under the Reserve Forces Act program at the Army Finance School Fort Benjamin Harrison Indiana. The 1955 Akron High School graduate attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls.
The Rural Home Culture Club marked its twentieth anniversary with a May 2 gathering at Mrs. Orin Harris’s home hosted by Maxine Ger nets and Francis Witt. Thirteen members attended as Caryle Siebens presented poetry, Helen Johnson read history excerpts, and a 20 token decoration was given. Mrs Jessie Warner and Mrs Lot tie Baker poured drinks at a decorated tea table.
Plymouth County residents receive letters asking for contributions to Iowa Children’s Home Society which has aided 166 local youths and adults. In 1957 adoptive homes took in T children, 308 in foster care, and 177 unwed mothers received care and counseling. Contact volunteers listed if no letter arrives. Card of thanks expresses gratitude for kind deeds and gifts.
