Plymouth county residents received charity letters urging support for the Iowa Children’s Home Society. The statewide agency aided 166 local children and adults. in 1958 Iowa adoptive homes took in 79 children, 269 foster care cases, and 156 unwed mothers received care and counselling. Local volunteers listed for contributions include Mrs. Burton Parriott, Mrs. Gale Fort, Mrs. Mae Thorson, Mrs. A W Uummel, and Mr. Roy Smith.
