Mrs Mary Anderson returns home in Akron after visiting son Art Anderson. Local residents and CCC men visit homes for weekends. Junior Senior banquet highlights with Japanese themed program and graduating class of 1937 roster. Baccalaureate May 16, commencement May 21. PWA aid uncertain for school reconstruction. Senate considers exemptions. Club and guild activities four of Westfield and surrounding towns. Various visits, meetings, and social events noted with multiple families and organizations listed.
A son was born May 4 to Mr and Mrs Ernest Wilson of Sioux City, former Milnerville residents. Weather favored farming with light showers and sun. Alfred Fry and Ursula visited Sioux City for St Thomas church services. The Coopers plan an east trip with Ursula and Hazel Lindberg. A fence dispute occurred recently with a bachelor farmer involved. Mrs C P Knapp attended Cyrus Fraternity tea in the city. Milner and Milner daughters Priscilla Audrey Jane visited Sioux City with their mothers.
Mrs Jessie Hathaway and Mrs Milners mother hosted a dinner with Richard Mothers invited. The Smiths traveled to Minnesota to visit Mr Smiths mother. Knapps plan to move soon with improvements at their homestead. Bertsel Brown of Merrill shipped hogs and cashed headlets. Liberty consolidated school near finish with Juniors and Seniors banquet at Martin hotel Sioux City. Maytime Merrymaking features F L G club dance at Stone Park. Bob Lindgren to California for salesmanship training. Numerous local residents active in schools and社区 events with family visits and travel notes.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nygard and Joe Powell visited the Harry Powell home near Elk Point. Mrs. Harry Powell injured her foot near the Silverberg store a couple of weeks ago. Roy Skinner and El don Beeler were supper guests at the William Skinner home Sunday. Howard Powell and children visited relatives near Westfield. A large crowd attended the Garland school picnic with ball games races and a treasure hunt and a lunch with ice cream. Clifford Nygard visited Otto Nygard near Beresford. Will Neary of Akron toured his farm Sunday afternoon. C. A. Hamilton visited Wyatt Heyl. Mrs. Heyl is ill. Ruby Bradley, Garland teacher, hosted seventh and eighth graders and took them to Akron for the public school exhibit. Roy Fickbohm and baby and Miss Iva Fickbohm of Sioux Falls visited their parents.
Mrs. George Fickbohm hosted relatives over the weekend with guest Ralph Fickbohm and family Henry Fickbohm and family and Lloyd Fickbohm and family joining on Sunday in observance of Mother's Day.
County Treasurer A Langhout received a state highway commission check for 112 365 to retire 100 000 primary road bonds and pay 12 365 interest due May 1. This marks the seventh payment of equal principal on the bonds, leaving 445 000 of the 1 145 000 bonds outstanding. these bonds cannot be refunded as they are not callable, with five years remaining in the term.
Ty’s primary road bonds will all be paid, with ownership spread across the country. Funds to retire them were allocated into numerous states. Lost or For Sale a few lines under Want or Found appear in the Want-Ad column of the Register Tribune.
