Gary Moller was a luncheon guest at his grandparents home in Chatsworth Iowa. Numerous relatives and friends attended birthday observances for Mrs. Fred Meins including Carl Biemere t Anthony Iowa Marvin Kruse and families John Boysen and family Danbury Iowa Henry Meins Cedar Falls Charles Meins and Chuckie Cedar Falls Ray Goodwin and Amy Sioux City Howard Wilkenson and girls Vermillion Levert Taggart and Jim Vermillion Tina Pabst Sanborn Minn Otto Meins Marie Moehlman Williams Meins Hawarden plus many others. The article lists social visits, dinners and church events, with several family members traveling from nearby towns.
Westfield News surveys a busy week of visits and celebrations. Families from Slayton and Sioux City joined gatherings and a Elk Point class reunion marked 40 years since graduation. Local clubs planned meetings and events, while students entered in a regional arts contest with 200 peers from the Sioux City area.

Susan Leekiey, a Westfield Sophomore, entered the Biology Senior Division at Des Moines Hawkeye State Science Fair on April 10 with the project Food Pollution. Guided by Mrs. Linda Brice, she placed 17th of 98 biology entries and earned an excellent rating. Her study tests sanitary conditions of store bought foods using agar plates to count bacteria.
Five Westfield High School students displayed works at an area exhibit opening March 21 in Eppley Auditorium Galleries. The show ran through April 7. Linda Brundeen entered an oil painting titled Fruit and Glass. Steve Knapp's work was also featured.
The Westfield High School Science Club hosted a April 16 science fair in the gym with seven senior and eleven junior entries. Judges from Akron High School evaluated projects in two divisions and awarded top honors to Elliot Waddell, Deann Jones, Cathy Buryanek, Pat Port, and Dennis Rider in junior, and Susan Leckley, Mike Burke, Scott DeLeve in senior. Awards will be presented May 20 at the high school program. certificates will be given to all exhibitors.
Akron report from the final week of the Women’s Commercial Bowling League. Farmers Co-op 41 27 led Wells Dairy 3137 and First National Bank 30 38 with high individual series by Ray Ericson and Merlin Trometer at 567, and top games by Ericson 234, Hemmelman 215. Team highs: Farmers Co-op 2534, Triple F 915.
The Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Iowa seeks used hearing aids in a state wide drive. Reuben Schakel chair praises the effort to collect, repair where possible, and redistribute devices to those in need. Cooperation includes University Hospitals and Sioux City Des Moines centers. Send unused aids to Des Moines address for evaluation.

Routine business was conducted and Citizenship seminar students' names were presented, all chosen must live in Union County. A flower show and talent find were discussed. Next meeting will be at George Kings the third Monday in May due to graduation. Summer meetings at 8:30 p.m. due to DST. Mrs. Dewey served lunch.
