Five killed and at least eight injured as a tornado ripped through farms north of Chelsea Oklahoma. Rescuers encountered widespread destruction with telegraph lines down and homes demolished.
Warsaw reports Polish cavalry have reached the outskirts of Kiev as Bolshevik forces retreat toward Kharkov. Infantry advances are said to be moving rapidly toward Kiev with cavalry leading the push. Newspapers note the cavalry's prominent role in the offensive as divisions advance ahead of infantry.
Federal agents seized a carload of sugar containing 80,000 pounds near Omaha Nebraska as it was to be sent to Des Moines. The sugar, shipped from San Francisco on a March date to a San Francisco firm, was diverted at Savannah Illinois to Omaha. The sugar belonged to a sugar brokerage concern, with total seizures now reaching 260,000 pounds.
The bodies of Jon West, a ranch worker, his wife, and their two children were found by relatives in their Roundup home. Authorities indicate West killed his wife and children then took his own life.
