In 1875 the Cross T herd led by Lew Burnet drives from Texas to Ogallala under Harold Channing EF, owner TOM ARNOLD is killed in a stampede. Federal officers halt the herd near Ogallala. frost ends quarantine and Lew completes the contract. He uncovers motives behind Steve and Clay's opposition.
Lew returns to his old trail boss life with Steve as Clay and Joy marry. A frost and a vast prairie journey clear loyalties as Joy joins Lew in Ogallala. She reveals Clay’s pride and the Rayburn murder confession clears Steve. August farewell promises a new Wyoming future together.

Dried beans peas soy flour and peanut butter look favorable while sugar remains similar to last year but more for home canning.
