Ethel Thorson 90 Funeral Held in Akron
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Thorson 90 were held Thursday March 1 at Schroeder Funeral Chapel Akron with Rev Ralph Burdette officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery. She died February 26 at Akron hospital after a long illness. Born March 23 1882 in Clinton Iowa she moved to Hyde County South Dakota as a child and came to Akron in 1906 where she taught school before marrying Edwin C Thorson in 1910 at Highmore South Dakota. The couple ran Thorson Drug Store in Akron, she kept it after his 1938 death with son Mac. Surviving: son Mac Donald daughter Naomi Mason grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister Candace Henson Des Moines.
