Friends from Le Mars Akron and Adaville joined at Akron Nursing Home to celebrate Mrs. Lillias Davidson’s 98th birthday on February 28 1974. She received roses an azalea plant candy a robe from relatives in Maine Missouri California and Minnesota two cakes and cards. Lunch was served and she expressed thanks to all who sent wishes and gifts.
Mr and Mrs Alan Sommervold and Mr and Mrs Tommy Nystrup of Akron gathered at Union Creek Church on February 8 1974 for a double ring ceremony. Pastor David Roy officiated as Becky Banks served as maid of honor with Janet Heeren as bridesmaid. Kristin Swanson was flower girl and Chris Nystrup led as best man with Warren Wilkens as an attendant. Ushers included Arlo Rohlfs Raymond Padel and Steven Heeren. The bride wore ivory satin with chantilly lace a chapel length train and elbow length double illusion veil edged in lace.

The Living History Farms foundation plans a Farm Museum on Highway 80 near Des Moines with a building for crafts, interactive exhibits, and 500 acres showing 150 years of Midwest agricultural growth. Weekend visitors to the Neil McLane home include Mrs. Carl Haan and Berk of Sioux Falls and Mike McLane of Rapid City. The Music Mothers will serve lunch after Friday’s concert. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Bliss of Tulsa, Texas arrived February 19 for the Craig Boetger and Ann Nemmers wedding and visited relatives including Mrs. Roy Bliss.
