Bridge winners were Eva Lilly first prize Eleanor Adams door prize and low score. Next meeting March 16, chaired by a committee with guest Lavon Hough.

Clinton Strong, ex Akron resident, dies in Sioux City with funeral in Akron Riverside. Willers market 22 head Hereford cattle, plus farm and family movements across Sioux City and California plans.
Miss Virginia Tague works at the Milner home after interviewing Mrs. Milner in Sioux City. Dr. and Mrs. F. W. Glann of Climbing Hill celebrate golden wedding. Mrs. Harold Cooper and husband mark eighteenth anniversary but plan none. Weather improves, roads in good condition. Everett Orr receives medical care after operation. Birth of a daughter to Joyce Cassen in Sheldon, Iowa. Ellendale parish hall entertainment sponsored by Briar Cliff college proved worthwhile. Local reporter earns top ten in Faton’s opinion contest and receives Kate Smith letter.
Akron secured two wins to close the season as Williams, Waterbury and Swift led scoring for the Indies while Addison kept Penneys in reach. Akron led 18-15 at half and 35-25 in the third, then held Penneys to five points in the final period to win 37-30. Box score shows Williams with 16 points and Addison 13 for Penneys. Earlier, Akron High seconds beat Sioux City East 20-19 and LeMars Junior High defeated Akron Junior High 37-16.
A handsome trophy and medals will be awarded to the winners and runners up in this meet.

Qualified electors of the Akron Plymouth county Iowa district are notified that the regular school election will be held at the school house on Monday March 14 1938. Polls open at noon and close at 7:00 pm. A director for three years to succeed W F Rossow and a treasurer for two years to succeed J E Brady will be elected. Nomination papers may be filed with the Secretary by noon March 4 1938.
Notice to Westfield Township qualified voters states the March 14, 1938 election will decide a proposition for the Westfield Township School Board to levy 0.0011 mills about $865 annually for three years to fund a new school building in School District No. 4 Westfield Township.
