Akron Fourth of July plans fade as town opts for quiet picnic
Westfield notes include Miss Edna Murray departing with her aunt Mrs Neil Mac Farlin for the southern part of the state. Local social updates mention Mrs Irene Breach driving to Sioux City for poultry, neighbors visiting from LeMars and Sioux City, and a Congregational Ladies Aid gathering at Mrs Sam Butcher's. A missing horse from Mills livery barn prompts inquiry. Children’s day at Congregational church impresses, while Akron residents discuss a no-celebration year and community picnics.
