Wise Mothers Value Childs Individuality
An essay discusses how early interruptions by mothers can condition children toward resentment and poor self control. It explains that repeated scolding and snatching away a child’s activity harms concentration, but proper, patient guidance can foster initiative and confidence for productive living. Renewals Due July 5 for Iowa Drivers Licenses
Sheriff Frank Scholer and three assistants visited LeMars to process 1941 43 license renewals. About 170 applications were filed in a rainy day, far fewer than the 738 two weeks earlier. Renewal blanks are available at Akron banks until July 6, the final date for scoring renewals without the full test. The LeMars office operates 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. applicants can request a free copy of the license law book. Commissioner Karl Fischer warned that licenses lapsed after July 6 require a full test, and renewal clerks at sub stations will close after July 5. A majority of renewals are coming through county clerics, who can issue a combined receipt and temporary permit valid nationwide. Payment should be by money order, check, or draft to the Iowa Department of Public Safety. coins or currency are not accepted. Union County registration is at Elk Point’s county office on July 1 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
