Mrs. Mary Connolly 85 former Akron Elk Point resident dies in Sioux City hospital Saturday June 6 1942 Born May 20 1857 in Ireland came to the U S in 1877 Surviving daughters Mrs Winifred Staley Mrs Cecelia Deitz both of Sioux City a brother Thomas Flanagan of Sioux City and 23 grandchildren Husband Patrick Connolly predeceased her son D F of Westfield Death occurred after which funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St Josephs Catholic Church Sioux City with interment in Calvary Cemetery Also notes Mrs Hobart Ross visited Sioux City last Friday Byron Allen from Sioux City visited Akron and a baseball game Akron vs Tri-State College at 2 30 p m Sunday Akron grounds expected to be a good one.

Warning As To Pollution Of Wells From Floods
The Union County Health Department urges residents of flooded Sioux Valley and other flood prone areas to boil all water for domestic use. Wells flooded or contaminated will be tested for health risk and sterilization instructions provided on request. Citizens are advised to see physicians and vaccinate for typhoid fever, with aid available through the County Board of Health superintendent at Elk Point.
