Mrs John Luken visited Brunsville with her son in law and daughter Jack and Mrs Reese. Ladies Aid met at A A Lilly home with Mrs Lilly hosting and plans a Joy Hollow picnic this Friday. Next meeting June 24 will be at B Lilly home. Gerald and Billy Tracy of Sioux City visited P F Tracy home. W J Nordman family suffered a serious auto crash near Perry Creek highway when their car was struck by a southbound vehicle. Janice Nordman was pinned.
A car mishap left two people with burns and bruises, treated and released from Gemars hospital. Nordman family postponed a trip to Ill. due to Mr Nordman’s ill father. Walter Hummel and friends attended a carriers’ convention in Des Moines. Mrs Jas Wilson visited from Brookings. Miss Mary Dondelinger returned home to Newhall Pa. John Martin escorted her to Newhall. Birth announced for A Hawks in Akron. Maxine Shearer and Lorraine Shearer visited Sioux City with the Thomas Shearer family. Movie night canceled due to rain. Tuesday showings remain popular. Fay Lower and Mrs Lower visited from Bronson. Mrs Lavon Hough hosted a Tuesday club. many visitors. Mrs Cecil Harrington hosted St Catharine’s Guild. Mrs Wester and daughter visited Sloan. Julia Clifford and family from Burbank visited Ray McCue. C E group picnic and skating at Rivers Sioux with Chas Seward. Wakey family traveled to Wagner. Miss Naomi Tone left Tuesday for Laramie with friends. The Vesper club meets Friday at Miss Oda Jenkins’s home. Father’s Day is June 20 with Elite Shop promoting cards and gifts. Elsie Rademacher and five children visit Osage relatives. C.C. Moore and family visited Fred Moore’s in LeMars. Miss Moore plans a Europe trip. Grace Robertson hosted the J A G club on June 14 with Bunco. Tina Morehead won high prize. Mrs. L G Williams traveled to Minneapolis for her mother’s operation. she died Sunday and Rev. Williams attended the funeral. Adolph Papritz, draftsman for Babcock Wilcox in Barberstown, Ohio, visited family. Catholic ladies hold a bake sale June 19. Dr. and Mrs. A J Kessler visited Sioux City. Lillian Kessler plans a west coast trip. Charles Kanago and daughter returned from Rochester after treatment, feeling improved. Elizabeth Baker left Sioux City for Luverne to work as a certified accountant. Sioux City Journal reports H B Clarke, 38, Akron, arrested for attempting to break into Schoeneman Lumber Co. office. held for investigation.
Mr and Mrs John Reemts hosted Sunday guests Mr and Mrs Rein Kiewel and children from Beresford SD and Mr and Mrs James Corbett and Claudia from Vancouver WA. Kiewel and Corbett are siblings of Mrs Reemts and Mrs Kiewel. Also attending the Sioux Valley Baptist association convention at Storm Lake IA last Thursday and Friday were Rev L G Williams and Mr and Mrs A Baker, Mrs W E Mellen, Mrs Sh H Youngstrom, Mrs B White and Mrs Walter Young, with reports of interesting programs.
Mrs D L Waterbury left for Rochester Minnesota on Sunday and plans a month long motor trip with her sister Mrs D F Moore and cousin Miss Georgia Lytton through Virginia West Virginia and Washington DC after a visit with relatives Cao was the former home of the ladies Paul Bichacker brought to the Register Tribune office a freak growth of asparagus that looked like a green shake and appeared crushed in width
