Gillette opposes industry control bill in congress
Cherokee Democrat Guy M. Gillette denounces the administration’s industry control bill as too far reaching and a dictatorship over industry. He warns it would let the president delegate controls, forcing labor and employers to follow regulations on wages hours and conditions set by appointees rather than the president. He also attacks taxes and highway fund allocations in the amendment and criticizes a proposed income tax scheme favoring the wealthy.
