Big June Rise Threatens Sioux River Region
The Big Sioux River has risen sharply due to last week's heavy rains. In the 24 hours after noon Wednesday the river climbed nearly four feet, flooding bottom land and damaging crops. Much of the rise stems from the Rock River. About two feet of water covers the Rtade north of town, cutting off mail wagons and other vehicles where roads are washed out.
