Several Westfield residents and visitors are listed including Dan Connoley and Mary Libby, Emma Dahli, Leila Lang, Laura Ross, Karla Ross, and multiple Hennepin family connections. Social events include a W.W.W.I fish fry, graduation at Akron, and Memorial Day gatherings. The town sewer sign ups, church plans, and a Foster-parent home are noted along with Phil Wahl's death and teaching positions in Scotland.
Local residents share visits and greetings including Betty Welch with Emma Dahl at Frank Welch home and Louella Taylor visiting Vernon Lias to see Harry Micheal who is in fair condition. Monterey native Lavon Hough attended Akron events with Melinda Thorson and Craig Boetger amid class activities.
Chatsworth Chats reports home economics agent 4-Hers remind 4-H families of the first home economics judging school on Monday June 8 at 9 30 a m in the Extension Office Meeting room and 1 30 p m in the REA Meeting Room at Alcester plus a health and farming notes column including detergent guidance microwave safety and community notices.
A nationwide contest will select a new Mrs United States Savings Bonds to serve as goodwill ambassador for the Savings Bonds Division in 1970 71. The winner will emerge from 51 finalists in the All American Family Search at Lehigh Acres Florida August 15 23. Iowan families may obtain free entry blanks from the All American Family Search national headquarters Miami Beach Florida 33139. The theme is For a Better America Family United for a Better Community. The winner will travel nationwide to discuss the value of Savings Bonds with citizens business and government leaders. Card of Thanks accompanied by an unrelated obituary note from Victor Anderson.
