Sioux City visitors and local gatherings fill the Westfield page. Albert Buckingham visits, Lilly hosts Ladies Aid, and families from Laverne and Omaha travel to see relatives. New school superintendent C L McLaughlin expected August start. town builds an association for weekly movie nights and PWA school grant hopes rise. Commencement May 21 showcases awards, solos, and a keynote by Prof. G O Thompson.
The 10-ft tractor binder designed for McCormick-Deering tractors doubles daily capacity versus an 8-ft binder. It runs via the tractor’s power take-off, with all components powered from the engine and the main wheel supporting the binder. If grain clogs the operator slows the tractor while the binder keeps its normal speed.
Local social notes list many residents attending celebrations and visits. Friends and families from Fre tichs Witt Kallsen Breitbarth Hoech and others gather, with shoppings, dinners, and a May 27 birth announced for the Molten family.

U B Ladies Aid planned a social Friday night June 11 at Melvin Hanson home. Mr and Mrs Dick Hamilton had Sunday dinner with Carroll Hamilton. Herbert Swanson drove to Miller South Dakota to visit his sister Karl Hensley and family. Bob Johnson and son visited Mrs Martin Johnson's home Sunday. Mrs Swanson also visited her aunt Mrs Harvey Welch Tuesday.
Sunday school at 11, Luther League program at Luther Hall Tuesday June 8 with hosts Mr and Mrs Alve Ericson and Mr and Mrs EB A Hultgren. Vernard Sallquest from Sioux City visited Wm Ericson. Neighbors visited Kenneth Johnson for a How-Do-You-Do party and received a picture of Christ in Gethsemane. W M S convention held despite rain and poor roads, Junior Rally Sunday afternoon and Young Women meeting in the evening with mission topics.
A business meeting occurred Monday morning with a large delegation attending dinner at noon. In the afternoon a memorial service featured Rev. Joneson newly installed in Sidux Falls. His sermon themed "The Light of the World" impressed attendees as the main speaker.
