Akron Twice Defeats Hawarden and Elk Point in Standout Wins
Orlan Moore starred for Akron, delivering dominant pitching as Akron crushed Hawarden in five innings before rain interrupted and then routed Elk Point. Eustace sparked early offense with bases on balls and timely runs, while Rex Smith and Verne Swift provided key hits and stolen bases. Akron’s defense feasted on errors to seal a lopsided win, with Moore earning praise for his form after a long injury layoff.
