Special correspondence from Westfield reports a St Catherine s Guild lunch at the horseshoe game on July 25. Numerous Westfield residents and visitors from Sioux City Akron and Le Mara attended gatherings at homes of Shearer Johnson Warenhorst and others with family introductions and a soap box derby trip. The Westfield Congregational Church voted to retain Rev Guinn as pastor for the year while visiting guests from Fort Dodge Bronx City and Emmetsburg were noted and social ties highlighted.

Miss Cynthia Strom from Avon, Ohio, called on customers here Saturday, July 15. St. Catherine's church in Westfield held its annual church picnic on the church lawn last Thursday. A pleasant time was enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Beaubern spent Sunday with the Levi Kapfer family in Sioux City. Fourth of July guests at the Leonard Buryanek home included numerous relatives from Ponca, Hinton, Akron, LeMars, Hawarden, Westfield, Sioux City, and Westfield. Visitors at Ollie Kunkle's home were Mrs. Margaret Spaid and daughter Vivian of LeMars. Duane Kindig and family returned from San Francisco with son James, who finished four years in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Lexington and just completed a Western Pacific cruise.
