A Sunday dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Kindig honored Mr. and Mrs. Herb Ross of Sacramento California. Many local families hosted and visited, with weddings, travels, reunions, hospital stays, and new residents noted including the Jonas Wester house purchase and the Taylor family reunion.
Funeral services for Fred J. Marienau age 78 were held Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Burdette officiating. He died July 10 at his home. Born in Lreton Iowa July 10 1898 he married Christine Seitz in 1926. A pharmacist in Sioux City and Akron he retired 1961 from Thorson Drug. He was a WWI veteran Akron American Legion VFW and Masonic order. Survived by Christine his wife a son Dr Fred Marienau of Sandpoint Idaho two daughters Mrs John Ernst of Denver and Mrs Philip Stevenson of Duluth 12 grandchildren.
