Oranges! Keane Bros offer cheap fruit and jobs

Local Akron notes show Keane Bros promoting large supply of Navel oranges at low per peck prices with special photo deals. The town features multiple social events, church activities, and neighborhood updates including visits, health notes, and upcoming plays at the Akron opera house.

Akron council approves water bond payments and election referral

At a special session the council ordered $1,000 paid on old water bonds and a refunding of the remaining $2,000, totaling $3,000 due. A petition by Councilman Wade signed by 145 electors requests a special election on issuing $10,000 in electric light bonds and was referred to the Light committee. The election notice will be issued soon.

Poultry Show Draws Wide Attention and Events

The poultry show runs Wednesday to Friday with over 200 fancy bred fowls on display and high quality exhibits from nearby towns. Judge McKorrelal scored premiums. results to be published next week. Admission free. boxing sparring priced at 10 cents. Akon Camp Woodmen of the World holds initiation and officer elections Saturday evening with Rev Dr Schleh attending. Special organizer Truscott continues work locally. Dr Schleh to preach Sunday at the M E church.

John W English Dies After Illness at Home

John W. English died at his northwest town home around noon after about an hour of illness from a brain hemorrhage. He had been in declining health since a partial stroke a year earlier. His son Harvey died recently from a horse kick injury. Funeral set for Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Akron M E church under Masonic auspices.

Annual Cemetery Meeting Invitation at Drs. Gilley & Kerr

The annual meeting of the Cemetery association will be held Friday January 28 at 8 p.m. at the office of Drs. Gilley and Kerr for election of officers and other business. Each lot owner, as a member, is urged to be present. MISS AVIS WILLIAMS Secretary.

Married in St Patrick's church January 26 1910

Francis L Trautt and May M Gleason were married at St Patrick's Catholic church in the morning nuptial mass by Father D K Hunley with relatives and friends present. The couple, from respected families, will reside on a farm three miles north of town after a wedding breakfast at the bride’s sister’s home.
