Miss Helen Biehacker helped with house work for Mrs. Will Kiewel. Robert Brundeen, once improving from heart trouble, died Thursday morning after a brief relapse at Akron hospital. Roy Kiewel substituted in Sioux Falls while James Kiewel visited home. Ben Andresen’s children ill likely with chicken pox. Ice on roads caused cautious driving. no major accidents. Mrs. Amanda Giffrow very ill. Kiewels hosted a 500 party. Walter Shearer and Stella Willer won high prizes, Elder Meske and Vera Willer won low. Will Kiewel auction drew a large crowd before cold returned. Lunch at noon. Heinie’s popular during afternoon. The Kiewels, troubled by rheumatism, thank helpers who aided preparations.

Tragic Death Of Former Akron Resident Henry Selk

Henry Selk a former Akron Iowa resident recently moved to Morris Minnesota died of a heart attack during a snowstorm. He had long heart trouble and was found in an alley near the Judge residence two blocks from his home. Survived by his wife two daughters and several step children along with siblings in Germany and other relatives. Funeral held at the Selk home and Lutheran Peace church with Rev. Pilgrim officiating.
