Announcing a dramatic sale to clear thousands of dollars of desirable merchandise at prices below current costs. The ad promotes a mid stream store overhaul, urging customers to buy Apple boxes at 2.98 each and take home All-Wool and Part-Wool Dress Goods at unmatched mill prices, promising quality and satisfaction with easy return terms.
The store explains heavy sacrifices of profit to offer prices below current costs. Most stock was bought in early 1919 when prices were lowest, enabling retail at past-cost levels. Proceeds from recently disposed outside investments are redirected to support the business and its customers in a rousing sale.
A timely warning notes high demand and labor shortages have driven down workmanship across goods, especially shoes. The store claims it offers a large, balanced stock of reliable footwear selling 25 to 50 percent below current market prices, urging customers to avoid inferior merchandise and buy quality at lower prices.
A period advertisement highlights scarce canned strawberries in syrup at 47 cents per can with a twelve per customer limit. It also promotes flour deals and limited quantities of Pillsbury and Splendid flour, plus a liquidation of ladies and children’s winter coats at deep discounts, urging shoppers to act before city prices rise.
A local sale advertises coats at half price with many items for children and women. Desirable silk and cloth coats, heavy felt and leather boots, slippers, and extensive underwear lines are discounted, with sizes and values listed. Offers include men and boys wear, wool and fleece Union Suits, and several special lots while stocks last.
