Return of Navy Man Anna Reemts Relative Visit

Mrs Anna Reemts of Virginia returns from 80 day furlough in the South Seas area. Her son in the U S Navy served in Panama and New Guinea. Reemts finds joy in reunion with relatives and friends after long service, recalling prison camp experiences and wartime operations against the Japs.

Miss Viola Maynard of Akron Iowa wed Price Miller son of Mrs Minnie Miller of Chattanooga Tennessee in a single ring ceremony at the Lutheran Church Los Angeles on December 24 1944. Methodist Church Invites Attendance and War-Effort Faith

Civilian Personnel Sought for Pearl Harbor Ship Repair

Civilian personnel are needed at the Pearl Harbor navy yard to repair battle damaged ships. John P. Bowler, area War Manpower director, said a Civil Service representative will interview applicants at the Sioux City Employment Services Office from January 1 to 31 for Pearl Harbor and West Coast navy yards. Openings cover skilled and unskilled work.

Plymouth county board reorganizes for 1945 at LeMars

Plymouth county supervisors meet in LeMars to elect Robert Brownlee of Merrill as chairman and Henry Grimjes of Le Mars as vice chairman. They accept Alwin Becker’s resignation as treasurer and appoint Andrew Langhout to fill the term. Alvin Becker leaves to manage Plymouth Co-Op in LeMars. Mie Louise Wiltgen is approved as deputy treasurer. Morse Hoorneman is re elected county attorney with leave of absence for military service and George W. Sturgeon continues as acting county attorney. Kingsley’s W H Creasey, LeMars’ Mrs Hi Cannon, and Akron’s Fred Claes son are named to the Board of Social Welfare, with local official newspapers reaffirmed as LeMars Sentinel, Globe-Post, and Remsen Enterprise.
