Valuable Handmade Arithmetic Heirloom Linked to Auditor
County Auditor J. C. Kistle possesses a rare hand made arithmetic work, a crafted ledger with five rules of arithmetic, illustrated in pen and ink. The compiler William Fourd began the project at sixteen in 1804 while in Cornwall, England, studying evenings. The treasure, bound in sheepskin, survived wear and has been rebound in modern leather. Solid free rural delivery will be given O'Brien county farmers after March 1.
