February 25 Solo Recital and Carnival Tonight
Tonight forty nine young instrumental soloists perform in the annual Grade and Junior High solo recital at 6 30 p m in the school auditorium. Judges will provide critiques and tips to improve, with selected sixth to eighth graders eligible for the Northwest Iowa Solo Contest at Westmar College on March 18. Parents and friends may attend on a come and go basis as the program extends.

New Iowa project expands cornstarch use in paper making
The Iowa Development Commission announced a researche project to boost cornstarch as paper adhesives. Led by Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton Wisconsin, the effort aims to lift annual starch use by about 200000 tons. Project cost 48000 dollars over two years, part of Agricultural Products Utilization Program.
