The century old Capitol building underwent extensive cleaning and restoration. Architect David Lynn and a 950-strong staff oversaw renovations across domes, paintings, chandeliers, and mechanical systems in preparation for the 2nd session of the 82nd Congress. The effort highlighted decades of stewardship since 1923.
