Heating water for hogs and cattle no livestock gain

Experiments from midwestern universities show no advantage to heating drinking water for hogs or cattle in cold weather. Practical fountain temperature is 45 degrees F to prevent surface ice. Plans To Assist Retarded Children In Plymouth County

Plymouth County Assocation for Retarded Children met on Feb 7 with strong turnout. A five member committee led by Gordon Mennen will finalize plans for a weekly preschool class to begin soon, contingent on a teacher and location. A shelter workshop seminar in Des Moines was set for April with Beamer Kissinger and McCracken as delegates. Fund drive total nears $2,600 with two township contributions pending. A reading review by Mercy Aylesworth highlighted seven books on retardation and child development, forming a temporary library housed by Mrs Gordon Mennen.

Change in Drivers License Renewals at LeMars City Hall

Ed Johnson of Storm Lake Iowa highways patrol drivers examiner announced Saturday tests and renewals will end at Le Mars city hall after March 1. The economy measure eliminates a 120 mile round trip from Storm Lake to Le Mars and will save over 66000 miles of travel for the state annually.
