Kathleen Kenny to wed Robert Rea in August

Akron couple Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kenny announce the engagement of Kath leen Ellen Kenny to Robert Dennis Rea of Springfield Ohio. Kathleen is a University of Iowa nursing graduate and flight nurse at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Denver. Donnie Rea attended Miami University of Ohio and Mesa Junior College and works as a ski patrolman at Keystone in Colorado. An August wedding is planned.

A flurry of visitors from Sioux City Brunsville Hawarden and Westfield called on residents at the Home. Birthday songs and small gatherings marked the month with notes of thanks from Mrs Guy Minor for two lap robes. Ground Hog's Day observation noted six more weeks of winter.

Psychiatrist joins Plains mental health center in Le Mars

Dr. Ervin Kjenaas a board certified psychiatrist joins the Plains area mental health center in Le Mars offering Monday evening appointments starting Feb 4 He comes from Cherokee Mental Health Institute where he has served 11 years and will also provide weekly time at the Northwest Iowa mental health center in Spencer Appointments can be made by calling Le Mars at 546-4624.

Obituary for Akron farmer Frank T. Rolfes at 68

Frank T. Rolfes, 68, longtime Akron area farmer, died January 29, 1974 in a Sioux City hospital after a three year illness. Born November 19, 1905 in Le Mars, he married Ida Dreckman in 1926. The couple farmed near Le Mars and Merrill before moving to Akron in 1951. Survived by six sons Virgil, C J, Robert, LeRoy, Eugene, Stanley. four daughters Ruth Phelps, Paula Winker, Clarice Wilken, Patricia Christensen. one sister, 27 grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Preceded by two brothers, three sisters, and two sons Isidore and Daniel.
