Kim Clauson, seven year old son of Rev and Mrs Durwood Clauson of Akron, was discharged from Metropolitan Medical Center in Minneapolis and is recuperating at home two weeks after heart surgery.
Monica Vreugdenhil of Akron is among more than 1,300 students named to the South Dakota State University fall dean's list. Students must hold a 3.26 GPA or higher to qualify, with 1,131 full time undergraduates from multiple colleges listed.
Dr Raymond Nelson academic dean at Morningside college Sioux City announced the names of students qualified for the dean's honor list for the first semester of 1975 76. The list includes Faye D Molzen daughter of Mr and Mrs Glenn Molzen Akron route 3. Morningside college a four year liberal arts college in Sioux City enrolls about 1300 undergraduates.
Akron native Milo E. Granstrom at McChord Air Force Base Tacoma Washington has been promoted to master sergeant. He has 18 years of service with duty in Alaska Spain Thailand and Africa. He and his wife and three children reside in Tacoma. He is the son of Mrs Edith Granstrom of Akron and a graduate of Akron High School.
Western Iowa Tech to host a one day workshop for Nurse Aides and Orderlies from hospitals and nursing homes at Sioux City campus on Monday February 9 at 9 a.m. and again on March 23. The program features advanced training in positioning transfers restraints and more through lectures films and hands on practice. Registration in advance urged at WIT 4647 Stone Avenue Sioux City with instructors Sylvia Holman Marilyn Moor and Ann Cleghorn. The workshop is sponsored by Western Iowa Tech St Luke's Medical Center St Joseph Mercy Hospital and St Vincent Hospital.
Mrs Almina Holm of Akron marked her 94th birthday on Saturday January 31 with family and friends visiting from Akron Trent South Dakota Elk Point and nearby towns. Daughters and sons in law Herb Anderson Lowell Bellwood and Frank Holm joined many relatives and neighbors to celebrate and thank everyone for cards and gifts.
