PTA party invites neighbors to pinochle night in Haward area

Sunday for Lyle Melinis and family visited the home of Mr and Mrs Lee Strobel with relatives from Sioux City and Hawar in attendance. A PTA party on Wednesday February 8 at 8 00 pm invites all neighbors to play pinochle pitch and 500 with refreshments and a door prize. Entry 50 cents. George Main improving after arthritis. Jim Green Creek watershed project covers the north branch area in Union county west and northwest of Hawar.

Watershed plan expands Green Creek area in Hawarden

Sixteen farmers met with conservationist Glenn Hicks and Ed Hanson at Hawarden City Hall and voted to unite the South and North branches of Green Creek into a single watershed. The steering committees from both branches merge, with B A Johnson, Charles Cooper, and Edward Trei ber named from the North branch, and S A Nilson, Laurence Erickson, and Malcom Kratochvil from the South branch retaining roles as officers.
