A robber escaped with valuables after forcing a storekeeper to open cash drawers in Mansfield. The thief was pursued to Athol and captured near Medfield where Snyder and a companion were wounded in a confrontation. Snyder received facial wounds but surrendered and is jailed awaiting a preliminary hearing.
J Frick Company to establish a distributing warehouse in Watertown with I A Reynolds visiting for site selection on the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. Des Moines visitor H G Pine toured the area, supporting the plan led by steel magnate H J Frick and his sizable manufacturing concern.
Reports indicate a vein of lignite coal struck on a Lyons township farm near Sioux Falls. The 60 foot thick vein lies 20 feet below surface. farming owner aided in sinking. If mining proves profitable, local farmers anticipate excitement over the discovery.
