Beatrice Chapman of Sioux City visited relatives in Westfield with sister Juanita Chapman. Louis Wahl heads west with plans to visit brother Virgil Wahl in Long Beach California. The St Catharine guild held its last meeting of the year at Philip Beaubien home with officers re elected. Visitors, illness updates, school events and upcoming holiday activities fill the Westfield social calendar.
A promotional plea from the Register-Tribune office announces a limited deal offering the Register-Tribune and Path Finder weekly for 2.35 dollars. It invites readers to order now and notes old newspapers are for sale at the office.
Special Correspondence reports Mrs Amos Brown arriving from Vernal Minnesota to stay a week with her ill sister Mrs Richard Milner. Mr and Mrs H P Smith brought Mrs Smiths sister Mrs Brown from the city. Mrs Hathaway returns to Sioux City for a few days rest as Milner home remains hospital like for a week.
Mr and Mrs H B Dalgliesh longtime Chatsworth residents celebrated their 50th anniversary with a lodge party and a large Sunday reception. Born in Ireland and Canada respectively they married in Omaha in 1887 and later settled in Chatsworth where Dalgliesh managed a hardware store and earlier farmed. They have eleven children and 33 grandchildren with continued strong family ties and community service.
The Le Mars Sentinel reports that sales of 1938 automobile licenses began Wednesday, December 1, with 125 numbers issued on the first day. Allen Werne received No 1, B De Woolley No 2, Al Oxban No 3, Will Sievers No 4, Everett Rhodes obtained No 13, and Mrs. Harley Butler kept No 23, as buyers select preferred numbers amid strong demand.
