The jury in Herkimer New York found Chester Gillette guilty of first degree murder in the Grace Brown case at Big Moose Lake with eleven jurors for conviction and one for acquittal after five hours of deliberation. Sentencing set for Thursday morning.

William Meservey son of Hon. T Meservey of Fort Dodge used his father name to obtain a $1,000 diamond consign ment from an express company in Fort Dodge. He bought the gems in Chicago claiming they were for his father and charged them to his father's account. He then mailed them to Fort Dodge, sped there, collected the diamonds from the express office, and vanished with the goods.
A large fire leveled the American Starch Company storage elevator in Utumwa on Saturday. The blaze began at 7 30 and raged until early evening, but firefighters saved nearby factory structures and nearby residences in Central addition. The elevator held only a small amount of goods.
