Thanksgiving in Akron honors a mild 1907 day and home gatherings
Akron residents marked a pleasant Thanksgiving with mild weather. A large Church of Christ service featured Rev H Robinson of the Baptist church and a packed Opera House for the Wah-na-ton home talent play followed by a grand dance. Many out of town visitors joined local families for meals and reunions, while teachers and students enjoyed vacations, with gatherings across Elk Point Sioux City Vermillion and Hawarden among others.
