Special Correspondence from Milnerville reports Miss Helen Beaulieu and Loran Ross, both of Milnerville, wed in Ellendale Catholic church with Rev Father McKenna officiating. The bride wore brown crepe and her sister Agnes Beaulieu attended in brown and orange. After a short wedding trip to Omaha the couple will live at Johnny Mansfield’s. The community offers best wishes. Also noted: John Lewis Bemilieu in Portland reports liking the West and finding work. John Mansfield hosted a dinner. Cy Knapp Jr initiated new members. Bill Berger sold 20 whitefaced steers in Sioux City market. Sioux Township PTA news for Nov 12 includes a program by Miss Fry and Miss Ruring’s students.
Union Creek announces Sunday worship at 11 with Sunday school at 10. A Lutefish supper is set for Friday at Luther Hall, invitations extended. Children meet December 5 at 2 30 p m for Christmas program. many local families are noted as Thanksgiving guests or hosts.
The Golden Gloves boxing event in the Sioux City Auditorium on December 7 8 17 and 18 is charity driven with profits to the Good Fellow Christmas fund for toys and candy for poor children The amateur tournament replaces a professional card this year with out of town boxers housed two to a room at the Martin hotel three meals daily and theater tickets The Chicago trip in February crowns the winners who will enjoy pullman travel and luxury in Chicago The champs receive gold filled gloves silver for runners up and bronze medals for semi finalists Each contestant gets a bronze lapel button two team trophies are awarded including a sportsmanship trophy The prize scale remains the same as last year
Iowa State College dairy expert Dr. C. Y. Cannon reports cracked soybeans equal oilmeal pound for pound in dairy cow rations. Soybeans contain about 17 percent fat, with up to two pounds of fat daily usable. grinding improves feed efficiency and reduces waste. proper hay and silage feeding advised. cows require roughly three pounds water per pound of milk.

Oldsmobile sales at national auto shows rose sharply versus last year, led by Toledo with 313 percent gains and Detroit 216 percent. Chicago 183, Boston 145, New York 77, Cincinnati 77, and Philadelphia 36 percent increases were reported by D. B. Ralston, Oldsmobile president and general sales manager. Factories now churn out over 1000 cars daily as 1937 models roll out, with more than 25,000 cars to be built and shipped from Lansing in December.
