Newlyweds Honored At Two Pleasant Bridal Showers

Miss Nellie Hull and Miss Marele Nelson shared honors at a double bridal shower July 16 in Immanuel Lutheran church parlors. Umbrella-decorated gift tables featured aqua yellow and pink white schemes. Readings and musical numbers preceded gift opening while out of town guests joined the celebration. Hull wed Robert Alderman on August 4, and Nelson wed Donald Burnight August 18 in Hills Minnesota.

Mock wedding marks Diamond Jubilee home gathering

Newly married couple hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Klemme held an old fashioned charivayi. Guests wore Diamond Jubilee costumes and a cleverly staged mock wedding featured Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mather and the groom. Merrie Klemme served as flower girl while Arden Johnson and the Arden couple attended the bride and groom. William Mitchell, J. P., officiated. The knot was guaranteed to hold in all weather. Mr. and Mrs. Alderman provided refreshments to end a pleasant evening.

Public Law 566 watershed organized in Sioux lands

The Big Sioux watershed in Ply mouth county titled the Little Three Watershed was formed last Wednesday August 7 at Alvord Banks home in Sioux Town ship. It covers 8000 acres across 26 farms with Donald Banks Sam Nelson and William Welch elected to the watershed committee. Terraces and basin terraces were staked for multiple farmers across Liberty Perry Lincoln Meadow and Westfield townships. A Soulnd Water Conservation Farm Plan was delivered to Ervin Ahlers in Meadows township. Local men in the armed forces are reported via Port Chaffee Ark. (AHTNC) Pvt.

Lilly completes eight weeks of basic combat training

David G. Lilly son of Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Lilly of Westfield Iowa has recently finished eight weeks of basic combat training under the Reserve Forces Act program at Fort Chaffee Arkansas. He is a 1957 graduate of Iowa State College.
