Twelve men die as a rock slide traps thirty five at the Lehigh Portland Cement mill site in Ormrod Pa. Coroner heads to scene. Hospital prepared to receive more injured as rescue efforts continue amid fears more deaths.
A Cincinnati suburb collision between a fast train trolley and a streetcar left three dead and many injured. Eyewitnesses blame crossing signals at Vale and Valentine avenues. Conductor John Driscoll reportedly lowered gates to permit a freight pass, then signaled the streetcar across as the heavy engine approached at high speed.
