Cast includes Bob Preston Allen Vander Helm Carol Doran Mary Ann Earnest Judy Tilden Gordon Watts and others with chorus numbers and specialty acts. Breakfast for the Methodist Ladies' Aid raised 5.25 with music by Tone and Margaret Lenso.

Rural mail carriers plan a car and youth campaign August 18 to collect aluminum from streets and doorsteps and at rural mailboxes. Akron Juniors Triumph Remsen 10 to 4 in Baseball
Akron Junior Legion pitchers Barney Swift and Beaubien led a 10 to 4 seven inning win over Remsen Juniors on the home diamond. Remsen's Margen started strong before Akron’s hit barrage in the fourth and fifth produced most of the runs. Remsen rallied in the fifth but Akron answered with continued offense and solid defense through the later innings.

The Hargrave Construction Co. began laying a prime coat on Akron streets after taking over from Harco Co. Oil supply delays paused work briefly, then a finishing top-coat of graded aggregate and asphaltic oils will be applied. Two new gravel coatings were added on Wighth Street and Seventh Street beyond the original plan.

Akron youths dominated the Cherokee Junior Baseball Tournament, winning three straight games to claim the title. They beat Paulina 9–0, defeated Manson 5–1, and toppled Linn Grove 12–4 in the final, with Ellis Tucker and Cliff Miller among top hitters. Supt. Fowler led the trip and Lieut.
