Local residents record visits and gatherings across Plymouth county. Lavon Hough travels to Huron, relatives visit A. A. Martin home, and many neighbors host friends from Elk Point Long Pine and Sioux City. Social events include an As You Like It club meeting with bridge prizes, chicken dinners, church youth activities, and a Skow Park summer dance planned by the F. L. G. girls. A parade of visits, trips to Lake Okoboji, and school contract preparations fill the week.
Doris Dreeszen recovers from a broken arm at home near Adaville church. Walter Hathaway and family return from Cherokee where he worked on a gravel haul, now in Sioux City for fall and winter. Mrs. Cramer and Mrs. Wilson visited the farm. Light rain arrives. heavier rainfall and wind cause damage west of Sioux City. LeMars reports hail damage. Milner territory escape. Richard Milner family visits Sioux City. Aud rey Milner stays for a week.
Mr and Mrs Clifford Nygard visited Sunday at the Otto Nygard home near Nora. The Fickbohms and George Fickbohm family surprised Lloyd Fickbohm on their tenth wedding anniversary Sunday afternoon. Carrol Hamilton and children called on the Dick Hamilton home Sunday afternoon. Sever Sommervold visited his sister in Akron Sunday afternoon. Mrs R C Hamilton Mrs William Skinner and Mrs Wyatt Heyl lunched with Mrs G Fickbohm and daughter Monday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Ralph Fickbohm welcomed a baby girl born August 10. Evelyn Fickbohm assists her mother with threshers this week and Merrill is helping. Mrs Ole Sommervold and sons visited her mother near Nora Wednesday.
Violet Kallsen and Dorothy Witt visit at Louis Frerichs home this week. Rev R Shipwright and Mrs R Shipwright with Augusta Suir and Edwin Bolln visit Fred Breitbarth home. Families attend Sunday visits and a West Bend picnic brings together multiple Kallsen and Morehead relatives.
