Last Rites Held for Mrs Alfred Kjose at Brule Creek

Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred Kjose of Union County South Dakota were held Saturday at 2 00 PM at Brule Creek Lutheran Church Pastor I G Hastad conducted the rites. She 46 died July 27 1949 in an auto accident near Brule Creek. Burial was in Brule Creek Cemetery. She was a lifelong member and Sunday school teacher at the Brule Creek church. She was married to Alfred C Kjose February 25 1931 and two sons Dennis 17 and Eldean Eugene 13 survive. Her parents Mr and Mrs N P Nielsen and siblings Roy Melvin Howard Eva Elvena also mourn her loss.

Akron catcher Hakeman out for season with forearm fracture

Rodney Hakeman sustained a fractured forearm Monday while practicing baseball on local grounds. He has performed well as the Akron team's second string catcher but will miss the rest of the season due to the accident.

Akron Teen Drowns in Big Sioux River Near Akron

Richard Moller 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Moller, drowned while wading in the Big Sioux River near Akron. Rescuers used grappling hooks and diving but found the body after a lengthy search that was interrupted by rain and darkness. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Obituary: J. G. Miller of LeMars Dies at 78

J G Miller of LeMars former Johnson township resident died Monday morning at his daughter Mrs Art Gronemeyer home in Washington township after a stroke following a long illness He was 78 years six months county supervisor for 24 years Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Plymouth Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery An obituary will appear next week Akron plays baseball at Schaller next Sunday evening.

Akron blanked Rock Valley 10 to 0 in the Sioux City Journal-Tribune semi pro tourney at Sons Park.
