Special programs and athletic meets in Westfield announce Spring Cleaning Day at the Congregational Church on April 21, Alta Relays on April 22, and Dutchman Relays on April 29. A Lay Volunteer Apostolate program will be held April 26 at St. Joseph hall Akron with Papal Volunteer slides and Mary Jo Haag speaking. The Iowa Daughters biennial convention meets April 22 to 24 at the Biltmore Sioux City, with bishops and a national vice regent among speakers. Regular school board actions include Title I remedial reading, summer painting, amended Title II budget, and kindergarten enrollment age adjustment to five by September 1.
The 30th annual Art Show of Westfield Community School was held in the School Auditorium on April 12 with Mrs Genevieve McVay judge. PT A lunch proceeds supported the event. Pupils across grades won ribbons and honorable mentions for their artworks and daily life creativity.
