Westfield School Events Include Banquet Prom and Activities

A stream of visits and gatherings unfolds in Chatsworth area households. Mrs. Fanny McKee hosts a Stanley party while Le Mars guests dine with Henry Collmanns, and Colin Collmanns host Mrs. G Moller and family. Julia Hartman family travels from Arizona for a funeral. JoAnn Moller returns from Rochester hospital. Several residents, including Moehlmans, Packards, Repps, Friskes, and Hendricks, host and visit across town and nearby Hawarden and Sioux City. A large funeral crowd attends St Matthew Lutheran for Mrs Katherine Hartman.

Funeral services for James F McVay held in Akron

Funeral services for James F McVay age 64 were held Saturday April 15 at 2 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev Ralph Burdette officiating Music included How Great Thou Art and Ivory Palaces James Henriksen and Mrs Orin Harris performed graveside rites were at Riverside Cemetery under Schroeder Funeral Home direction Graveside services were conducted by Freedom Lodge No 434 AF and AM Casket bearers Cyril Larsen John Sweyer Dr C R Mason Raymond Hebeler Arval Lake and Grant Gassman Mr McVay died April 13 at Akron Hospital after a long illness He was born August 9 1907 in Hudson SD He married Myrtle Jordahl in 1931 and Genevieve Gossard in 1954 He lived in Westfield IA and Hudson SD area until 1943 when he moved to Akron He worked for Standard Oil until retiring in 1970 He was Past Master of Freedom Lodge and a member of the Sioux City Consistory Survivors include his widow two sons Robert C of Fostoria MI James V of Apple Valley MN a daughter Marlene Aitken of Wheaton IL a stepson Douglas Gossard of Richfield MN a stepdaughter Mary Gossard of St Paul MN 12 grandchildren two brothers two sisters

Tractors Must Flash Amber Lights On Roads By Law

Farmers show interest in new laws for amber flashing lights on tractors and slow moving vehicle signs on towed equipment on roads.
