Westfield notes report Mrs. George Garvin’s return home after hospital care and praise Lorraine Shearer for county spelling effort. Community meetings, aid society fund drive for Cancer Control, and April 27 Plymouth County Federation events are listed alongside school sports results, a Vermillion Day visit, and local social visits.
Special correspondence reports large attendance from local neighbors for the funeral of Mrs. Jennie Schaeffer last Wednesday in Sioux City with Rev. George W. Dunn of First Methodist officiating. Interment followed at Adaville cemetery. The piece notes Miss Mary Stack, a former Plymouth County teacher, died at her Sioux City home on Saturday night.
