Masquerade Ball highlights student social season
Friday night March 22 the WEA Masquerade Ball filled the School Auditorium from 8:00 to 12:00 with The Changing Times providing music. Best dressed couples Marianne Fiyiman and Maury Woudenberg as boy and girl led the honors, with Kathy Goodrich as best dressed girl and Keith Mlew as best dressed boy. Teachers Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs won best dressed teacher after arriving as Hippies and Flower Children. The event drew many long skirted girls, cowboys, Indians, and service members amid lively dancing.

Three Akron girls Kathie Goulvich Melinda Netty and Nat ey Klennne traveled March 3 to Spencer for the State Speech contest. Judges awarded one or two or three, with one the best.
