San Francisco reports that Burton John abo, a Folsom convict and newspaper cartoonist, drew his way out of prison after admitting a forgery while intoxicated. Governor HIMAR WW Johnson commuted the sentence amid the artist’s prison cartoons and a three act play.
Jean Gianini a 16 year old former pupil of Lydie Beecher was arrested on a murder warrant in Little Falls New York. Alleged admissions are treated as confessions and an affidavit from Brainard Will supports the claim that Gianini proposed killing Miss Beecher and robbing the safe in Poland village.
Tokio reports the emperor has offered the premiership to Prince Syesato Tokugawa, president of the house of peers, but belief grows he will decline. In Waterloo Henry Collins colored lays in a hospital with his throat cut while Irene Gillispie colored sits in the county jail awaiting a beating on a charge of inflicting injuries. She says Collins took her money and deceived her. Also reported, a successful revival by Charles F Barrett in Dewitt continues two weeks as scores convert.
A car plunged twenty feet from a bridge and landed in the wreckage, badly injuring four men who were piled up in the collision. Police and rescue teams responded to the scene and transported the injured to local hospitals for treatment.
