The ministerial conference will host joint union services at Union Presbyterian Church on Tuesdays for nine weeks. This week Bob Quinn traded his 80 acre Fa Woods farm to G C Ebner in exchange for the 160 acre Edmund Porter farm. The consideration was $60,000. The transaction was handled through C P Nichols Land Agency.

Several men were arrested for first time including prominent citizens such as City Mayor Crawford former grocer Hugh Hall and E G Rabenold. Justice of the Peace Mrs E W Spessard faced political pressure amid claims of a ring.
The Ear Splitters' parade float features Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Washington backing pleas to sponsor the act. Aingworth's famed musical company will ride a large truck on July Fourth and pour forth music from culinary and agricultural instruments forming the ensemble.
On Saturday morning a hay carrier slipped from tracks and a hay fork pierced Robert Stephens in the left thigh. The fork narrowly avoided the large artery and lower bowels, leaving a severe but nonfatal laceration. As of Thursday, he is improving and sitting up a little.
The town council called for bids on a 30000 gallon elevated water tank to improve water service and fire protection. The plan enjoys strong local support from the Ainsworthian community as essential for town growth.
The Queen Esthers of the Muscatine District plan a rally at Sunset Park in Washington next Wednesday June 23. A basket dinner is planned and all Queen Esthers and their friends are invited.
