Fountain statue becomes medallion keepsake for Aiken

The missing Park Avenue Laurens Street fountain in Aiken is reimagined as a two tiered medallion. One Dead and Two Injured in Sunday Aiken Crash

A Sunday crash outside Aiken left Victor Heyward dead and two others in critical or serious condition. The 1984 Caprice driven by Robert Drawdy of Wagener veered off S.C. 19 around 4 20 p.m. colliding with a northbound Mazda driven by Lelia Patterson of Greenville.

Record turnout eyed as motor voter boosts SC registrations

South Carolina officials expect a record turnout in November due to the federal motor voter law. More than 1.7 million residents may be registered by the deadline, about 200000 more than 1992, with a 40 percent conversion rate to actual ballots. One Week to Register in Aiken County

Aiken County voters must register or update their address within six days this week to be eligible for the November 5 general election.
