Dallas East Dallas Live Oak gardens nourish refugee families
Two of Dallas oldest community gardens, East Dallas and Live Oak, along Fitzhugh Avenue, support refugee families from Bhutan and Cambodia. Run by Gardeners in Community Development since 1994, they foster farming skills, local markets, and neighborhood bonds while emphasizing time and community organizing as keys to lasting impact.
