Coca Cola Bottling in Aiken has halted production since September first. David Sandifer the South Sales Center manager says workers were laid off and schedules cut to two days a week. The plant will continue selling Coca Cola running routes and maintaining an office.
A derailed train carrying liquid natural gas set fire to four or five cars in Livingston Louisiana prompting a 1 mile evacuation radius for about 2000 residents. Firefighters stayed back as flames spread to two houses and officials moved to remove intact cars. Interstate 12 U S 190 and LA 63 were closed while a Baton Rouge locomotive was sent to assist.
